Snake & Hammers - Banked slopestyle at the Nike Snowpark Montafon

From 24 to 26 March 2013 the „Snake & Hammers“ banked slopestyle at Silvretta
Montafon/Austria is going to be a blast. Riding an innovative contest course amateurs, local heroes, snowboard legends and pros together take up the challenge of timekeeping and obstacle judging. The snowboarders with the best all-around riding skills get the chance to win $10,000 prize money.Nike Snowboarding presents „Snake & Hammers“ – a unique snowboarding competition designed to test a snowboarder´s best all-around riding skills. The course combines the turns of traditional banked slalom with the features of a slopestyle event. Next to smaller, sharp turns and long banks the riders are awaited by hips, kickers and jib obstacles. A rider´s overall goal is to „snake“ down as fast as they can while dropping their best „hammers“. Everyone is invited to take part wherefore motivated amateurs shred together with pros and experienced snowboard legends. A contest has rarely become that exciting and funny at the same time – because only riders who really have a high level of board control and come out on top of this interesting starting field win a part of the $10,000 prize money.

12 pros where invited to make a 1 minute edit to be posted on the site and to be judge by you..

This week at SNOpark Mk, On Saturday we have The Summer Heat Rail Battle. A Freestyle Ski Competition with Cash prizes Starting at 7pm and finishing at 11pm.

For Thursday and Friday the park will consist of the flat box- donkey kink gas pipe and the down rail at the top , followed by the flat down and the down flat down.
Then moving down to the hitching post and drop down big gas pipes.
Then to finish we have the big rainbow and battle ship rail.

On the opposite slope we have the slightly smaller features as usual, A gas pipe and box and a kicker.

They have a new online video competition running where you can win £1000 for the best trick in your catagory.

Who's Afraid of The Park? Freestyle Coaching Evening at SNO!park MK.

The 2012 tour arrives at SNO!zone Milton Keynes on Friday 20th July. Whether you’ve an interest in freestyle riding or you want to take park skills to the next level Who’s Afraid of the Park is for you!

Our freestyle ski and snowboard instructors will be on hand to encourage you to push your boundaries, creativity and technical riding to the next level. Dedicated beginner freestyle features will be out for you to hone your skills on and by the end of the session you’ll have those key tricks dialled.

SNO!zone sponsored riders will be supporting our freestyle qualified coaches providing crucial advice and inspiration stemming from years of competitive riding experience.

This week we sees the return of the Who’s afraid of the park Freestyle coaching event at SNO!park.

So if your looking for some advice on your tricks or are new to freestyle skiing and snowboarding and fancy giving it a go. Then this evening of freestyle fun and games is for you.

The park is designed with all abilities in mind with a huge choice of features. We have gas pipes both ride and side hit. Kickers and boxes.

But also for the more advanced we have the donkey kink rail and The Nike Stair set Rail.
